FINAL SUBMISSION

POCHE
Through the poche drawings I wanted to highlight to the use of materiality throughout the house. Adlof Loos was able to use dark, rich, warm materials throughout the house because of the amount of light he let into the house. In my poche section drawing, I've shown this by leaving the places which receive light white and shading the places which does not get direct light dark to represent the dark green marble finish. I've done this in my poche plan drawing as well, leaving the central stairs untouched representing where the light hits.

PARTI
I've identified Villa Muller as a corridor house but instead of a corridor which leads the persona from room to room, the stairs in the Villa Muller is the corridor. So I've hatched the stairs to indicate that they are the corridors of the house and the red arrows show the circulation throughout the house.
In the parti section I wanted to show the two different set of stairs, the non-continuous system and the continuous . The non-continuous system which is through the middle of the house leads the persona to the top level which acts as the termination point while the continuous system which is from the basement to the roof level leads the persona to the large opening overlooking the cathedral

The raumplan- the interconnecting of rooms is shown through both plan and section. The different levels shows that Adolf Loos does not design floor plans and sections, he designs spaces. There's no ground floor or first floor, only interconnected continual spaces and rooms. The spaces interconnect so there is a rise and fall in floor level and height level which is noticeable but practical. The different heights changes to the feelings and experience as you enter the room.

Through these practice poche drawings, I just wanted to show our light effected the building and explore the reason why Adolf Loos used the materials he did.
